Dogi surprised himself at how good he was at building barricades. He had a reputation as the guy who broke stubborn walls so people could get in. Constructing and safely demolishing were the same science, when it came down to it, he supposed. As well as thick fences, he'd made and positioned spike pits, catapults, monster lures and gongs. Now the village was starting to feel more defensible. There were quite a few combat-trained people who could help, as well as doctors and blacksmiths, plus a very noisy, irritating parrot who could find and bring back Adol wherever he was.
