Chloe was an FBI-detective for some years already. She had seen and heard about a lot of horrible crime and she had learned always to keep professional distance. But this time it had been different. The little girl involved in the case reminded her of Trixie, and the thought that something horrible like this might happen to her daughter one day, too, was too much.
Lucifer caught her in his arms when she almost broke down, and he held her until she finally stopped shaking.
Slightly embarrassed she murmured:“ Sorry, I don't know...“
He smiled, surprisingly gentle. „Anytime again, detective.“
