"Crono..." Lucca sighed, "What did we learn about time travel and making helpful suggestions to random people in the past?"
"..." Crono shrugged.
"Don't do that pretending-to-be-mute thing with me! It hasn't worked since we were both eight!" she snapped, "Well, you got your wish. There's a criminal justice system now. Except we forgot to explain how courts actually work and we have no legal advocacy, a lawyer who's a complete pushover, an obviously dodgy Chancellor - YET AGAIN - and they've completely lost all record of our existence and what we were doing here in all of four hundred..."
"Um, Lucca..." Crono ruffled his thick, spiky hair, finally unfrozen from the panic of a now very awkward social situation, "How DOES a court of law work?"
"How should I know? I'm a scientist," she pointed out, "Marle, kindly explain to us how courts work, please."
"Um... you yell at the servants and they do what you say? Sorry," she giggled, "I kinda skipped my law classes. And all my other classes, ever. Anyway, it doesn't matter if the Chancellor's dodgy, right? He's in charge. So, I say we grab what's on hand, break out of there and run away!"
