Dinner was rarely a fancy event and this was no exception. Rosa was elsewhere and Kain was a different elsewhere and honestly, Cecil was only there because he'd had a rare quiet day after days of ongoing audiences.
The meal itself was fine and his other company quite welcome; anyone in the castle was welcome to eat together on these quiet days.
But it would be better when those elsewhere were there. Cecil would not deny that.
The next night's dinner was twice as lively, with both Rosa and Kain returned to his side.
Together, it was a grand feast.
