Word Count: 300
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Masaru tries to explain to Sundown how a computer works, with the 'help' of two people from too far into the future to understand how Masaru's computer works.
(Note: includes some actual dialogue from me explaining to my mum how a computer works.)

"Oh! I think I remember this bit... that's Word, right?" Sundown pointed to the screen.

"No, that's Windows."

"What's the difference again?"

Masaru sighed, then explained patiently, "Windows is like... um... the table, and Word is the pen and paper, and Paint is the box of crayons, and Outlook is the 'in' tray and 'out' tray for your mail..."

"So is Windows the computer?"

"Sort of? Windows is, like, the part of the computer that you can see, not the stuff running in the background..."

"So Windows is that glass thingy?" Sundown poked the screen, "It don't look like a window, I can't see anything in it!"

"Um..." Masaru turned to Akira, "Help!"

"Don't look at me, I can't operate your old-ass computer either, I just use my phone!" Akira shrugged, "Why don't you teach him something easier?"

"Because your phone is WATCHING ME and it creeps me out and you've lost the ability to do the simplest thing on a computer!" snapped Masaru.

"You can talk," Sundown chuckled, "You kids can't even track and skin a deer. Even Pogo can do that!"

Cube beeped prodded him with a servo-claw that extended from a hidden alcove in their spherical body, offering him a coffee.

"Cube can probably do all of this. He's a good kid, ain't ya?"

"Beep!" Cube spun around in a circle and flapped their wing-arms, whistling with joy at being praised.

"Reminds me of this dawg I used to have," Sundown said, bending down to pat the robot, "Hey, can you make this doohickey work?"

"Bloop," Cube took one look at the computer and dipped their wings sadly. After a few minutes of whirring, they jumped up and down, beeping, then projected a holographic screen showing a guide to Windows XP for small children.

"Thanks... I think?"
