"What's the matter," Peter asked him, offering him a mug of cocoa. "You look like you've been through the wringer."
Taking a long, grateful sip of the soothing, warming beverage, Davy nodded. "Oh, you said it. I've just been out doing Christmas shopping, for you fellahs, and for my family back in Manchester. I've been frantic, trying to figure out what I can afford to buy."
Peter nodded. "I understand. On our budgets, there's a fine demarcation line between what's affordable, and what our intentions are. No wonder you're so exhausted and frazzled."
