We've been working all through the chilly early-December day, since not long after sunrise. Now, the sun has set, and we're both finally feeling that our hard work is at an end.

He grins from over near the electrical paneling. "Are we all set, babe," he calls to me.

I beam excitedly, rubbing my hands together in anticipation. "All set," I respond. "Let's give it the juice!"

I can almost hear him rattling off a countdown in his head, before he pushes plug into socket. The house bursts to beautiful life.
