Summary:
All his life, Jaskier wanted to be a performer. He learned how to play many different instruments (even a lute) but unfortunately he made little money with his music. To pay the bills, he begrudgingly took a job at a coffee shop to make minimum wage.
He was working behind the counter when a man with white hair and the most striking blue eyes he had ever seen came in with a big brown dog with long legs that reminded him of a horse.
The man came up to the counter and Jaskier put on his best flirty smile.
‘Welcome to Philippa’s Coffee. How may I serve you?’
‘Black coffee,’ the man said with a gruff voice that did things to Jaskier that were not appropriate for a costumer interaction.
‘Would you also like a Pup Cup?’
The man’s brow furrowed. ‘What’s that?’
‘It’s a cup of whipped cream that we give out for free to good dogs and your dog looks like a good one.’
‘Oh. I think Roach would like that. Wouldn’t you, girl?’ The man asked as he looked down at his dog and she barked.
Jaskier laughed. ‘Well I guess she agrees she is a good girl.
He made that man’s (whose name was Geralt) coffee and made a Pup Cup for Roach.
He wrote Geralt’s name on his cup and on the spur on the moment he wrote his number on the cup along with a message for Geralt to call him.
He went back to the counter, called out Geralt’s name and handed him the cups. Geralt looked at his cup and his eyes went wide then he grinned.
Later that night, Geralt did call him and there first date was going to a dog park with Roach.
She was indeed a good girl.
