Buffy knocked on the open door to Giles’s office, waiting for him to acknowledge her. “Buffy, come in. What’s the matter?”
“It’s Dana,” she said, sitting opposite him at his desk. “I talked to Willow and the coven isn’t making any progress with her. I think we should touch base with Angel and his team again. Get more detailed information about what went down in L.A.”
Giles took off his glasses, not meeting Buffy’s eyes. “I’d rather keep Angel and Wolfram & Hart out of this. Besides, Andrew handed in a full report, we have all the information we need.”
Buffy sighed. “Fine. Let’s go over the report again.”
“Andrew’s mission has been discussed extensively during the debriefing, and Dana’s health record has been handed over to the coven,” he said, absently flipping through some files. “You shouldn’t worry about Dana’s wellbeing, Buffy. She’s in good hands.”
“You’re hiding something.”
“Your accusation insults me.”
“Cut the crap, Giles,” she said curtly. “You’ve gone behind my back before, and I learned to recognize the signals.”
They stared each other down until he flinched. She smirked.
“There’s something in that report that you don’t want me to see. What is it, Giles?”
