The aftermath of Willow’s memory-wiping spell hit Buffy with the power of a wrecking ball.
It wasn’t really the vampire’s punch that had sent her to the ground. It was the ripple effect of reabsorbing the sheer volume of her own traumatic memories in a matter of seconds that had knocked her out. And now she had to pick herself up again and slip back into her own grim reality after walking in Joan’s shoes for a while. Nothing hurt more than remembering what it had felt like to be Joan.
Not even the vampire kicking her in the gut.
