Growing up, Ed just wanted a friend.

Growing up, Ed spent alot of time alone. His parents thought of him as an inconvenience more than anything and he had no friends. He told himself that children his age were too stupid to be his friends, but he still wanted at least one person to tell his secrets and riddles too.

Decades later, he found Oswald in the woods and they became the best of friends (trying to murder each other, not withstanding).

Not only were they friends, but Martin called them Murder Friends and Ed liked that. He didn’t like that Oswald’s dog was named Ed though.

LOL at the last line, but I rather love this drabble. :) It's a very poignant but realistic look at Edward's, and other brainiacs like him *ahem*, upbringings, their loneliness, and the desire for friends... So says the only-child nerd who lived out in the woods and has graduated at the top of almost every class she's attended...
