Buffy wished Dawn a good day at school and sat at the kitchen table, staring at her half eaten breakfast.
Of all the unsettling news from the previous night, the worst was probably Willow reporting Dawn’s claim that Joyce had paid her a visit, but due to Willow’s own experience with a spooky ghostly appearance, it could have been a cruel fake out.
Very convincing, too.
Buffy had only listened to Dawn’s description of “Joyce” appearing in a bright, glowing light, wearing a long, white robe or maybe dress, saying she loved them… and she desperately wanted to believe it.
