Frost was hiding behind a medical chart, belonging to a patient he’d just discharged. He was also stealing glances at the box that was now packed with a new emergency arrival, the attendings surrounding the patient as the paramedics and a firefighter assisted the patient.

“When are you asking Ritter out?” Maggie appeared right by his side, making Frost jump.

“Ask who out?” He didn’t sound convincing.

“C’mon, you’ve been looking at the cute firefighter for ten minutes.”

“His hand is making that guy’s heart beat.”

Maggie chuckled, looking at him knowingly. “It’s not the only heart he’s making beat.”
