Summary: Drake is feeling thoroughly sorry for himself.
‘Nobody loves me,’ Drake thought gloomily, wallowing in misery. It wasn’t entirely true, he knew his parents loved him, even if that was in spite of him being the way he was. He knew his favourite cousin and her kids loved him, and his sister and two nieces, but as nice as that was, and as much as he loved them all back, it wasn’t the same.
He wanted someone of his own. Someone who would love and care for him as much as he did for them, but it sometimes seemed that every woman in the state of New York had been warned not to go out with him, and those that didn’t heed the general advisory only dated him so they could dump him and make him feel even more worthless and unwanted than he already did.
Sheila had ditched him three weeks ago, after they’d been dating for two months, and since then, every time he started trying to chat up a girl, they either told him flat out that they weren’t interested, or they gave him their phone number and then ghosted him.
Maybe the real problem was that he was a nobody, not worth loving.
