Little surprises Konan nowadays. So, when Kisame barges into their rented room with cuts on his face and blood on his clothes, she mechanically unfurls from where she sits, unpacking the first aid kit from her bag.
“It seems they caught a whiff of us.” He voices the obvious, dry humor in his voice. She cleans his wounds, flattening band aids over his brow, running her thumb one way. Skin like sandpaper. “Won’t be long until their reinforcements get in our faces as well.”
Fingers trail in the opposite direction, hand cupping his cheek. Like persimmons.
“Well?”
“We leave now.”
