Spike left his crypt on his way to the butcher’s, but it didn’t take long before his heightened sense of smell picked up a familiar scent of freesia and something uniquely Buffy, stopping him in his tracks.
Inhaling deeply, he followed her trail through Restfield until he spotted her among the tombstones, fighting off a vampire. Fascinated, Spike leaned against a crypt, concealed in the shadows, his eyes trained on Buffy. She moved with lethal grace while her hair, bathed in the midnight moon, shimmered like spun gold.
She was poetry in motion, warrior, and goddess all rolled into one.
