Bloom sniffed the air of the ER, following a faint trace of garlic that lingered in the room, teasing her senses and refusing to be ignored. The trail led her to the break room, where she found Casey rummaging through his bag.
“Is that lunch?” she asked. “Are we taking lunch breaks now, Casey?”
“I got you a spoon,” he said without turning back to her, pulling out the cutlery
Lauren stared at him for a moment before joining him.
Casey had cooked rice with red and green bell peppers, a touch of cumin, and spring onions. Enough for two.
