Davy stared at the shoes that were peeping out from under Peter's bed. Kneeling, he discovered that the feet were owned by the owner of the bed.

"Peter, would you care to spare a moment to tell me what you're doing down there," he asked.

Peter stuck his head out, blushing. "Micky bought a record of spooky sounds to play at our party this Halloween," he explained. "So I thought I'd like to listen to it last night, to see how creepy it is."

"And this is how creepy it was?"

"Yes. I gave myself all sorts of terrible nightmares!"
