Buffy stood in the pelting rain, looking at the massive dragon she’d just slain while the military radioed orders back and forth; they were probably astonished to see such a beast, but if someone could make a big-ass dragon disappear—figuratively and literally—that was the Government.
It had come in handy that she’d kept a friendly acquaintance with her ex Riley and that he was still involved in a military branch that dealt with the supernatural; even using her wildest imagination, she wouldn’t have guessed that L.A. would be facing this kind of armageddon.
And it was far from over.
