"Why me?" Harvey asks his wife late one night out of the blue. Their daughters have been long in bed, and Salem is curled, sound asleep, at their outstretched feet.
Sabrina's eyebrows arch in surprise. "Why you what?" she asks, tilting her head slightly with that coy smile he's adored ever since they were children.
"Why me?" he repeats, waving a hand at the television where the Bewitched credits are still rolling. "You could have used your imagination to conjure up any husband you want. Why me? How'd I get so lucky?"
She shrugs. "Because you're my best friend." Playfully, she wiggles her nose up at him.
Harvey's shaking his head, though. "You could have created any kind of friend or husband you want. You could make me do or be anybody or thing you want. But you've always chosen me, always taken me back, and you've always let me be me. I know I'm not that great, Sabrina. Why me?" he asks again.
"Because, Harvey Kinkle, you are that great." She threads her fingers through his long, brown hair, pulling him down for a kiss. "You've always loved me for me too. That's why I love you."
