When she risks going in the house these days Zoe can’t help but note how much of it all’s been ate up. Wallpaper black with mold. Floorboards rotting. God, her Momma’s kitchen.
Pictures and mementos and her childhood mixed in like some compost heap; rich rot to feed a knife-cut smile.
