Returning from her shift, Buffy found Dawn whisking something in a bowl. “Buffy! You’re home… early.”
She slammed the door, throwing her Doublemeat cow cap on the table. “You’re not in school!”
“I—I wanted to practice making cupcakes for your birthday.”
“That’s not a good reason to ditch school, Dawn! And I told you I don’t want to celebrate. The last thing I need is another birthday bash mayhem!”
Dawn sighed meekly. “It’s just a small gathering here at home, I promise! I barely see you anymore.”
“You think flunking out is a solution? ’Cause it isn’t. And you’re grounded.”
