Most people had a soul mate; It was rare, but some people had more than one.
The first time Fraser found his soul mate it was February 12th and he and Victoria were trapped in a cave. She put her fingers in his mouth and things changed. The world turned from shades of gray to color. Here eyes were a deep blue, her lips were red and her cheeks were pink.
When he handed her over to the proper authorities his world turned back to gray and he thought that was what he deserved.
Many years later on February 14th at ten past noon, he kissed Ray and they both gasped. Ray’s hair turned from light gray to golden yellow (he now understood why Dief was transfixed by blonds) and his eyes were a light blue speckled with green.
Ray looked at him and grinned. ‘Wow! Your uniform is so bright. Can you see colors too?’
Fraser rubbed his fingers against Ray’s soft cotton shirt and found himself smiling back. ‘I can. Your eyes are very fetching.’
Ray’s cheeks had turned pink.
Most people had a soul mate and it looked like they both had two. Stella had been Ray’s.
