Waking up to an empty bed, Spike padded downstairs where he found Buffy at the desk, either tapping rapidly on her laptop or scribbling down notes.
“Luv? What are you doing up? It’s 2 a.m.”
“Hey,” she smiled apologetically. “Sorry, babe. I gotta finish this paperwork for our HQ.”
“You’re the head Slayer, shouldn’t someone else be in charge of the menial paperwork task?”
“I asked to be involved, Spike. I’ve just… been putting it off forever and it piled up. At least they don’t make me travel to London.”
“Fancy a cuppa and some company?”
She beamed. “Please.”
