Spike shot a resigned look at his rainbow-colored nails. “Here’s the deal, Nibblet. Since the godawful manicure you gave me is forcing me to stay hidden for a week, you’ll have to keep me entertained. Take the cards.”
Dawn crossed her arms. “We can’t play cards now. The polish is still wet, you’ll ruin it.”
Spike arched his brow. “So? I like my nail paint chipped.”
“But that’s not your usual black,” she observed. “Chipped nail paint doesn’t look good with bright colors.”
“Says who?”
“Me,” she shrugged. “Oh, I know! Let’s watch Dawson’s Creek while it dries!”
“Bloody hell…”
