The lake is quiet tonight. Eerily still, even.
Joey had been hoping to draw the moon reflecting off its surface— it’s what he always does when he can’t sleep on nights like these, but it’s bitterly cold out, and mist is rising from the surface, obscuring everything in a dense, terrible haze.
Just his luck. No perfect mirror to capture under his pen.
Still, he has to do something, or else he’ll drive himself crazy with everything he’s seen in his dreams lately.
So he draws anyway, desperately hoping there won’t be a nightmare on the page when he’s done.
