Buffy tried hard to concentrate on moving her feet as quickly as possible, ignoring the unkempt grass that tickled her ankles while she fled from Spike’s crypt.
Once outside the graveyard, she allowed herself to slow down and she lifted trembling fingers to her lips, still tingling from the ghost of Spike’s kiss.
What was she thinking? Why did she do that? Why was her heart clenching as stupid tears stained her cheeks? She couldn’t, wouldn’t, feel for him or let what he’d done for Dawn change how she saw him.
He was still a disgusting, soulless monster… wasn’t he?
