Summary: Piper knows the wise choice.

Piper gazed at Dan, the club around her becoming more of a backdrop as a far-away look grew ever more present in her brown eyes. She knew he was a good man. He was the man she needed, kind and gentle, loving and, well, of course, honestly, human. He could make her dreams come true, and actually be there with her and grow old with her unlike Leo. He could share every part of her mortal life. They could be very happy together. They could raise Jenny the rest of the way together, and possibly raise children of their own. He could make her happy.

Yet she still couldn't seem to stop thinking about Leo. He was never far from her mind. Her skin tingled at the memories of his gentle, both physically and figuratively healing touch. No one had ever touched her like he did. But he was bad news. Not as bad news as a Demon, of course, but he was still very, very bad news. Nothing could ever come from loving him, nothing more than a Supernatural fling that could cause them both trouble and heartache.

Still, her heart hurt just thinking of him. She missed him so much, missed his smile, missed his touch, missed that presence that was unexplainable, far more than magical, and so utterly his. There was just something about the man.

About the Angel, she corrected herself, and heard wings flutter. She moaned softly in the back of her throat as she thought of his arms, and the wings she imagined him having Up There, surrounding her. He could literally carry her away. But just as no man had ever touched her like he did, none had ever hurt her as deeply either, not even Jeremy, and she'd been set to marry that Warlock.

"Hmm, yeah, nice buns, right?"

"Nice wings," Piper murmured, leaning back.

"What?" Her little sister's voice snapped Piper out of her daydream. Her eyes fluttered rapidly as she was yanked from her daydream. She remembered where she was, that all she'd just been feeling was her imagination. And she remembered, seeing Dan smiling at her, with whom she was supposed to be. It didn't matter what her heart wanted, what she was able to experience or otherwise thrilled her in her dreams.

In her dreams, Leo didn't have to answer to being a White Lighter. She could be his priority; they could share their worlds and entire lives. But in reality, the man had been around since the Second World War! There was absolutely nothing about being with him that was logical. Dan Gordon was the smart choice. He was the one who could grow old with her, be seen with her, live life with her, not Leo.

"It's gonna be okay, sweetheart," Phoebe murmured, patting her hand.

"Of course it is." Brightening, Piper headed for Dan.

Phoebe shook her head as she watched her go. They had to give it, and Leo, time. "Don't give up."
