In the shelter of deep water, she could drift forever. There, everything is quiet and blue and calm. The concept of hot is foreign, for everything is pleasant and cool beneath the surface.
Up above is the prickling of harsh sunlight. Above, there can only be found noise and chaos, a thousand demands and frustrations eating away at her very soul.
She doesn't want to go back up there again. Wishes desperately for gills, so she can stay under the water for the rest of her life. The water's embrace is so soothing, so welcoming.
Why should she ever emerge?
