The night is long and bitter. And hope is wearing thin.

Gilbert isn't sure that he'll make it to sunrise. Hell, he counts himself lucky to have made it even this long. He's grateful to the strange blood that's kept him going, sustaining him in his illness.

The blood...so dark and rich. So vital to life itself. If only he could have more. More would be nice.

He feels his pulse begin to race. A strength begins to seep into his limbs, a strength he'd thought was lost to him.

Outside, there is blood. Outside, there is life.
