Cobb always knew that being a marshal would be risky; he had always just hoped that he would be able to die with his boots on.
He hadn’t died, but he had lost an arm. Considering that if he hadn’t been a marshal he never would have met Din, he considered it a fair trade.
He was in bed staring down at a sleeping Din.
Cobb brought up his non-robotic hand and combed his fingers through Din dark curls.
He had risked his life as The Marshal and had been rewarded with a handsome husband and a little green son.
