"Sit still, you big baby!" Alfyn snapped, "How come you're brave enough to charge headlong into a fight with a wolf three times your size in the first place but you go all squeamish when I patch you up?"
"Ophelia does not have such a terrible bedside manner," retorted Olberic, "Her healing spells do not sting, either, unlike this awful-smelling poultice."
"Ophelia's treating Ha'anit, who's in a much worse way than you. Aren't you honour bound to protect beautiful maidens?"
"Ha'anit is as maidenly as that wolf, and as much in need of my protection."
"Anyway, she'll be too tired for a second healing ritual. Spellcasting really takes it out of you."
"I... am grateful we have two healers, I suppose," he admitted, "I always imagined that it might one day become a point of contention, that your interests would clash..."
"It helps that Ophelia doesn't take payment, what with receiving a Church stipend, so we're not in competition. We don't need the same resources either - I need my doctor's bag, she just needs somewhere to pray."
"Do you think it will ever come down to proving whose way of healing is superior?"
"Unless the Church starts persecuting men of science again, I don't care. There are things I can do that she can't, and the other way around, and like you said, a world this full of people will always need more than one healer," he grinned again, "And now you're all patched up and ready to go. Doesn't time go by faster when you're talking? I haven't heard a single complaint from you about the pain, either, and that's usually the difficult bit."
"I still prefer Ophelia's method."
"Well, you would do, wouldn't you? She's a beautiful, graceful lass... HEY! The Knight's Oath says no hitting healers!"
