Title: Trashy Gifts
Paula didn't like Ness embarrassing her by rummaging through every trash can he found but she couldn't argue with results. He'd found them both burgers this time - perfectly fresh, still warm even, with no specks of dirt. As they walked and ate, they discussed their theories on who exactly it was that kept trowing perfectly good food in the trash. It had happened so often it was looking deliberate. Were the kids supposed to find them, gifts given by a mysterious benefactor?
"Maybe its Jeff's dad," mused Paula, "He did say that his dad used to hide in trash cans as a kid."
"That sounds like him," said Ness, "He is a bit weird."
"We shouldn't be rude to someone who gives us presents, though. Even if he does keep putting them in the trash."
"How does it stay so clean, though? Why does nothing else get thrown in the trash with it? And how do we always walk past when the food is still warm? You know what I think?" Ness leaned over to whisper, looking over his shoulder at the corner of the street, "He's following our every move. Not so nice and innocent after all, huh?"
