Summary: Inuyasha blinked, staring up at Kagome nervously.
"Inuyasha! It's time to go home," Kagome called, strolling back up from the water's edge. In her arms, Moroha was snoring softly, worn out by a day of fun at the beach. "I think our little puppy needs a rest. How's my hunky han'yō doing?"
Frantically, Inuyasha stuffed something underneath the beach blanket that he'd just finished folding. "Almost done," he announced, shutting their picnic basket. "We're all packed up, and ready to go!"
She grinned, nuzzling their dozing daughter. "That's great! So, what's that under the blanket?"
"Huh?!" Inuyasha blinked, staring up at Kagome nervously. "Uh, nothing?" When she stared him down, his eyes dropped, and he swallowed. Dreading Kagome's wrath, he drew out a punctured and mangled swan pool floatie.
"Oh, Inuyasha," Kagome sighed, staring at the carnage. "How'd that happen?"
Inuyasha gritted his teeth, scratching at the floatie shreds. "I couldn't open that damn valve thing!"
Gently handing Moroha to him, Kagome took what was left of the back end of the floatie. Finding the valve, she looked fixedly at Inuyasha as she unplugged it with ease.
Eyes enormous, Inuyasha stared at the opened valve. Then, he turned away, arms folded across his chest, and let out an annoyed breath.
"Well, if you're gonna show off," Kagome heard him grumble under his breath.
