Humming under his breath, Micky ambled into the Pad.

Leaning in, Davy caught snatches of the song. "Hey, I never knew you know 'Love in Bloom'," he declared with a chuckle.

"I didn't, either," Micky replied, helping himself to a cola. "Not until I met Eve."

"Is that the new waitress at the diner down the road?"

"She sure is. She's lovely. She's like a flower right out of Eden." Still singing to himself, Micky waltzed through the room, eventually stumbling over the bandstand near the back door.

"Watch where you're going!" Davy rushed to steady his friend, glancing out to the beach. "Hey, isn't that your would-be girlfriend?"

Snapping out of his lovestruck daze, Micky looked all around. "Where?!"

"Outside, you lunatic!"

Together, they went out onto the patio, and gazed down at the shore. A gathering had formed on the sand.

"Hey, they're having a wedding," Micky gaped. "Why didn't they call us to play?"

Davy shoved him. "Look at the bride, Micky..."

Doing as advised, Micky let out a moan, dropping his soda. "Eve's getting married?!"

"That's the way it goes, I expect," Davy responded. "A flower out of Eden one minute; forbidden fruit the next."

You have quite a knack for writing these cute little Monkees drabbles. I can just see this kind of scene happening on the show.
