Riki's shriek reminded Dunban of the time when he'd accidentally disturbed a Hox nest and been mobbed by a furious mother and her equally angry and sharp-toothed babies. He winced, then shoved open the door.
Reyn was trying to throw Riki like a volleyball, Riki was trying to bite Reyn's hand off. It wasn't an unfamiliar sight. Both of them looked at Dunban like naughty children interrupted in their mischief.
"Reyn call Riki round!" accused the near-spherical ball of fluff.
"No, I said it's your round! Its just another diversion tactic, Dunban, the little pest never pays for anything!"
"Riki got wife and kids to feed!"
"Then why is Riki in a pub in Colony 6?"
"Riki got to get away from screaming kids and terrifying wife somehow!"
"Look, please don't trash the place this time, okay? I like drinking here too," Dunban sighed, "You know the rules - no weapons, no artes..."
"Dunban take fun out of everything!"
"I wouldn't fight too much if I were you, anyway. Sharla will have to patch you up and you know what Sharla's like when she's angry."
Reyn gulped, "He might have a point there, furball."
"Fine, Riki pay. Will fish do?"
