She smiled. Markus had done his best to make her life behind glass bearable; her confidant, her friend, her secret love. However, there had never been a chance for them. Each touch by her hand would mean his death.
But today was her chance to give back what he had done for her. She was old, ready to go. But Markus would still have a future.
