Discretion being the better part of valor, Davy hid out on the patio until Babbitt had ended his tirade and left. Then, he came in to confront an unusually gloomy Micky. His friend was slowly gathering up the debris from his latest experiments.
"For future reference," Davy smirked, "they've got these great new inventions out. Soap and water, I think they're called. Not to mention brooms and mops. You might want to use them before the landlord comes knocking again."
"Oh, shut up, Shorty," Micky grumbled.
