Ness unzipped his rucksack, then quickly took a step back. A white-feathered head, two beady little eyes and a sharp yellow beak poked out of the bag's top, then a small tornado of squawking, feathers and sharp beak erupted from its depths.
It didn't even have the courtesy to lay a replacement egg.
"I have a theory on why this happens each time," Jeff spoke up, "Its the residual radiation from Orange Kid's experiments, you see. I need to speak to him about containment protocol..."
He ducked as a well-aimed PSI Freeze efficiently cleaned the hen droppings from Ness' bag.
