Their entire quest had been rather surreal but nothing had quite prepared them for the absurdity of Moonside.
They'd found it after walking through the wall of a coffee house that already had a strange atmosphere, following a mysterious humming noise. Then they'd emerged into a world of eternal darkness and garish neon lights, where stop signs, fire hydrants and Dali paintings roamed the streets, attacking people, where Yes meant No and vice versa, where invisible men followed their trail and everyone could see into the dimension Paula only saw when she prayed.
The statue's mocking laughter followed them everywhere.
