Jack Snakebird flapped his wings and emitted a slightly strangled squawk of indignation.
"No need to be as awkward as human about this," Regina chided him, "Just answer yes or no."
"I'm a bird with at least half a brain, of course I'd want to share a nest and have chicks with you," he responded, "I just think this is a bad time to be making any promises. Or any plans for the future at all. Do you understand how difficult this mission is? Don't jinx it."
"Coward," she squawked at him, ruffling her bright red, fluffed-up feathers at him.
