Of all the lousy luck. There are plenty of places where your car could have chosen to have a flat tire. But it just had to pick here: Virtually the middle of nowhere. And just as the sun is setting.
The only sign of life is a rickety-looking house not far off in the distance. Perhaps you could go there and ask for help; there's certainly no cellular service out here.
But what if there's a murderer in that house? Or ghosts, vampires, the whole shebang?
Oh, but that's malarkey. Of course.
But you don't care to chance it.
