Once upon a time, there was a Terrible Threat. It swept over the land, threatening to spare none in its wave of chaos.
The Ruler of the land sent a Messenger out with The Call. For a Hero was needed.
After much work and struggle, the Messenger discovered the Hero.
"Behold, Hero," the Messenger cried. "We need your aid to counter the Terrible Threat that may ruin us all."
The Hero considered these words for a moment or two, leaving the Messenger in suspense.
"No, thank you," the Hero said at last.
Thus, nothing was resolved.
And everyone lived.
Probably.
