Kalma. The stench of death. She is your friend, that daughter of Tuonela.
They cannot smell you. They can see you and hear you, but you can smell them, the rot and under it the disease, like a spilled pickle jar. When it floats down to you from a tree you are passing, or is carried on a breeze from ahead of your path, then do as your mothers and your fathers and your teachers told you and stand still, stay silent.
And give thanks to the god, even as She floats past, following the vile things of the world.
