Title: 'The Bearer'
Fandom: Friends
Characters/Pairings: Chandler Bing, Monica Geller-Bing
Word Count: 200
Rating: G
Summary: What's worse is being the bearer of that bad news.
The news from the fertility clinic is bad--the worst. It's never the kind of news that a person wants to hear. But it was also news that Chandler never expected that he'd have to hear.
What's worse is being the bearer of that bad news. Better that Monica hear it from him than from some specialist. But it still kills him to have to tell her.
It breaks his heart, knowing that he and Monica can't have kids of their own. They've been trying so hard, and for so long. It would have been awful if just one of them had turned out to be infertile. But that both of them have the problem...
Chandler doesn't know if that makes it easier, or if it's just another cruel blow.
All he does know is that, somehow, they've got to pick up the pieces, as shattered as they've both become. It'll work out.
But knowing that it'll work out doesn't make the pain any easier to bear. Not when the woman he adores, who has always wanted to be a mother, is so devastated.
He's got to be strong, for her sake, even as the news tears him apart inside.
