Incensed though he was that his mum had essentially left the fate of the world up to him and gone off somewhere, probably for a nap knowing her, the pup was glad to be exploring the outside world on his own for the first time. He hadn't expected to find so many friends his own age, both divine and mortal. Several of the Brush Gods had children of their own, his mum's human friend had adopted a son and he'd even met a strange boy who looked like the Lunar, Waka. At least he wouldn't be lonely on his quest.
