Scene: The Pad. Davy is sitting around and looking glum. Mike enters from the beach, surprised at the sight of him.
Mike: Oh; hey, there, Davy. I thought you were gonna go out with that Gloria chick tonight.
Davy: Gloria. Yeah. That was my goal; I certainly had high hopes. But it didn't work out as I'd planned.
Mike: What happened? Did she turn you down?
Davy: No...her boyfriend threatened to punch me if I bothered her again.
Mike: Well, I guess that smooth British charm don't work on everybody.
Davy: Not on girls' jealous boyfriends, at any rate.
