Title: S-Craft Training
Rean watched the candle flame ripple and dance with a life of its own, the light of a pure, unfettered soul.
His first ever training exercise had been to put the flame out with the force of his sword blow. Later on, he'd been taught to cut so swiftly and precisely that he could slice through the flame and leave it completely undisturbed.
There was a higher level of mastery, his father told him, where the flame became one with the sword, just as a blademaster's soul was one with his weapon. When his own mind was as still and calm but as vital and lethal as fire, the flames would gather around his blade, then he'd been able to unleash them in a devastating firestorm. Water, wind, even lightning could be used like this - however, one's chosen element needed to match the nature of one's soul. Rean was closest in nature to fire.
He was kind of cheating right now. He had set up his ARCUS to channel fire sepith into his weapon when he swung it in a certain specific way. It killed the enemy just fine, though. One day, he vowed, he'd do it for real.
