"What the heck are you doin' up so late," Mike demanded, shaking Micky's shoulder.
Shrieking, Micky practically jumped out of his seat, spilling his popcorn everywhere. He stared at Mike, clutching his heart. "Don't do that!" Taking a few deep breaths, he calmed back down again, smiling shamefacedly. "Sorry, man; I didn't mean to wake anybody up. But there was this midnight horror moviefest on TV, and I didn't want to miss it. Right now, they're showing 'The Blob'."
"I shoulda known." Sighing, Mike shook his head. "You gotta quit watchin' those scary B movies after dark, or you'll give yourself nightmares!"
"Oh, pshaw," Micky scoffed, settling back down. His eyes remained glued to the set after that. "Nightmares--come on! I won't give myself nightmares!"
"Well don't say I didn't warn ya if you're up all night scared outta your mind. I'm goin' back to bed. And, if you had some sense, you'd do the same, Mick...Mick?" Rolling his eyes, he leaned over his friend's shoulder. "Micky, are you even listenin' to me?"
"Listening," Micky mumbled distractedly, still staring at the television screen. "Sure, man...whatever you say..."
"Oh, to heck with it," Mike grumbled. "I give up!"
