Spike stood alone in the shadows, watching the sun dip below the horizon where the sky was ablaze like a flame.
Each sunset used to mark the time of day where he could step into Buffy’s world… Now they were just a cruel reminder of what he’d lost, a void that she had left behind and was impossible to fill.
It was a quiet but endless torment, to step outside every night and keep up the good work—for her.
He knew he wasn’t worthy of carrying her legacy, but every day as the last light faded, he did his best.
